Recipe of the Week- Elizabeth Sales Associate
Posted by megan on 8/2/2012 to Aromatherapy 101
With the summer sun beating down on our heads all day it is very easy to get a dry scalp in the summer time. We have a wonderful remedy to ease that dry, itchy scalp and to also help revitalize dull, sun damaged hair.

In a 100ml bottle of Almond Oil blend in the following:
6 drops of Blue Chamomile
4 drops of Ylang Ylang
9 drops of Geranium
16 drops of Rosemary
4 drops of Clary Sage

Blue Chamomile is anti-inflammatory and will help calm the irritated skin down. Ylang Ylang and Clary Sage are both very good for soothing overly dry or overly oily skin conditions by helping to balance oil secretion levels. When used on the scalp it also helps to stimulate hair growth for thicker more luxurious hair. Geranium also aids in oil production levels and helps soothe dry irritated skin. Rosemary helps to ease dry skin conditions like eczema and also stimulates the scalp and aids with hair growth.
To use: Apply to dry hair and let sit for twenty minutes. Wash and condition hair as normal. For extremely dry scalps you can apply this oil to your hair before bed, wrap your hair in a plastic bag to keep your sheets clean, then wash your hair in the morning like normal. You will notice a change right away!
