Foot odour is a common affliction that can be easily treated through regular use of natural essential oil remedies. It is usually caused by fungal disorders or bad diet habits, like overindulging in beer or strong smelling food for a period of time. Essential oils that are great for treating foot odor include
geranium and
clary sage, with their anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and deodorant properties, as well as
peppermint and
eucalyptus radiata, both known for their anti-septic, deodorant and cooling properties.
Essential Oil Foot Soak for Foot Odour
Run warm water into a small tub, and add 2 drops of any of the above essential oils (or a combination of them). When the tub is 2/3 full, submerge your feet up to the ankles for 15 – 20 minutes or until water is no longer warm. During your foot soak, you can also use our
Revitalizing Foot Scrub, containing peppermint and eucalyptus, to get rid of dead or callused skin. Follow up with
Revitalizing Foot & Leg Lotion.
Using Essential Oils to Prevent Foot Odour
Add 1/4 cup of baking powder into a ziploc plastic bag. Add 8 drops of any of the above essential oils (or a combination of them) directly to the baking powder. Close the bag and toss the powder thoroughly. Dust feet with mixture at least once daily, and add 1 teaspoon to your shoes overnight, emptying it out before use the next day. Store mixture in an airtight jar or container. You can also spray our
Revitalizing Foot and Leg Mist on your feet and in your shoes throughout the day to help control odours.
